Located in Upper Hutt, Happy Hounds is a dog walking and adventure service specializing in small pack walks, adventure walks and dog runs designed to keep high energy dogs active, balanced and fulfilled.
Happy Hounds gives dogs the adventure, stimulation and exercise they crave, through reliable routines, calm handling and high quality care.
Our Services
Adventure Hikes
Your dogs chance to ditch the footpaths and head out on a Upper Hutt adventure. These walks take your pups through bush tracks, river trails, open spaces and all the places where dogs get to be dogs! We explore new scents, climb paths, splash, sniff and wander. The dogs come home tired and enriched. Adventure walks are perfect for high energy breeds that need more than just a walk around the block. Adventure Walks are 3 hours long (4 hours with travel time and pickup/drop off) & are $65 per walk, or $60 when booking 2+ per week. Is your dog finding daycare overstimulating? An adventure walk could be a great alternative.
Premium Dog Running
For the dogs that don't just walk- they thrive on speed, challenges and hard exercise. Perfect for working breeds that are born to run and young rockets that need to run double the distance, to feel tired and fulfilled. These high energy sessions last for an hour (sometimes longer depending on the trail) and are a mix of flat, hills and bush trails. These are priced at $60 per run or $55 when booking 2 + per week. Limited spaces per run.
Small Pack Walks
Join the pack for an adventure! Our group walks are designed for social, energetic dogs who love exploring. Walks last 1 hour and are a mixture of bush tracks, river trails and local terrain, keeping your pup enriched, exercised and happy. Small pack walks are $45 per walk, or $40 when booking 2+ per week.
Solo Walks
For dogs that need one-on-one time, extra support, or a quieter environment. Perfect for reactive, anxious or elderly dogs who thrive with individual attention. We will work on supporting your dog in these areas. Solo walks are 1 hour long $48 per walk or $45 for 2+ per week.
After walk Dog Wash
After a great adventure, every hound deserves a fresh start. Our post walk pup wash is the perfect way to rinse away mud, dirt and puddle splashes collected on the way. Using dog gentle dog-friendly products we will have your pup cleaned, towel dried and ready to head home, looking as good as they feel. Because the best walk should end with a wag, not mess. $30
